Aristille’s Mosaic: A Story of Rescue and Loyalty

Aristille’s Mosaic: A Story of Rescue and Loyalty

Some mosaics are more than just art—they’re love stories in tile.

Aristille’s mosaic is exactly that: a piece about rescue, healing, and loyalty.

The Rescue That Changed Everything

Not long after I left an abusive relationship, I heard about a pair of kittens that were being mistreated.

I negotiated with the owner to take them off his hands. He wouldn’t let me have both, but he agreed to let me take one.

That one was Aristille.

He let me catch him, and that was it—he came home with me.

We helped each other heal, me, my daughter, and Aristille—all of us needing comfort, all of us starting over.

The Cat Who Became Family

Aristille is spoiled rotten, and that’s exactly how it should be.

He begs for bacon and chicken scraps when we’re cutting up dinner.

He’s the most patient cat I’ve ever met, cool as they come—but still wary of strangers, especially men.

Despite that, he adores my daughter, and she adores him right back.

At bedtime, he must be there—cuddled up beside her or flopped across the bed—or she won’t settle.

I think he’d rather be curled in my lap most nights, but he’s not one to argue when cuddles are involved.

Aristille’s Heaven

Aristille follows me around the garden, chatting away like we’re having a full conversation.

When I do my garden rounds, he talks until I scoop him up, draping him over my arms like a lazy scarf, his paws dangling, purring in bliss while I check for produce.

That’s Aristille’s version of heaven.

Why I Made His Mosaic

I made Aristille’s mosaic because he’s part of our story—a survivor, just like us.

When I see his mosaic on the wall, it reminds me of how far we’ve come.

It’s not just a portrait—it’s a symbol of healing, patience, and loyalty.

He’s not just a black cat in tiles—he’s family, forever part of our home and our hearts.

Final Thoughts: Art as a Memory Keeper

Mosaics can hold more than colour—they can hold the weight of shared history and quiet love.

That’s what Aristille’s piece is for me.
