Are your mosaics handmade?

Yes — each piece is made entirely by hand.

I design, cut, and place every tile myself using ceramic and weather-resistant materials. This isn’t factory-made art — it’s slow, thoughtful, emotional work, created in my home studio one piece at a time.

Can your mosaics go outdoors?

Definitely — many are made specifically for permanent outdoor display.

Look for formats like:

Do you take custom orders?

Yes — I accept a limited number of custom commissions per year.

Can I request a version of a mosaic I saw in your gallery?

Absolutely — some mosaics are one-of-a-kind and can’t be reproduced, especially tribute pieces with personal meaning. But many designs can be adapted or reimagined. Reach out and let me know which one you loved.

Do you offer matching pieces — like sets or themed garden paths?

I’m working on it! Many of my most popular mosaics will be released across multiple formats — pots, birdbaths, pavers, medallions — so you can build a collection that tells a full story.

Why pavers and medallions, why do some designs look cropped?

Pavers are thick, circular stepping stones made for garden paths or display. And can be incredibly boring, I don't do boring and finding good quality mosaics with interesting designs seemed few and far between. Pavers is actually where my mosaicking journey began.

Medallions are a classic Mosaic substrate shape. It also gets to bring my paver designs inside for those after some indoor magic.

Some images are cropped to fit instead of scaled down is because to maintain the quality of the original artwork it needs to remain at its designed size. Unfortunately the pavers are only so big, so it gives me the opportunity to showcase the pieces best features in a more practical substrate.

Is shipping really free? Even internationally?

Yes — all mosaic artworks come with free worldwide shipping.

Please note: if you’re outside Australia and ordering a piece framed in recycled timber, you should check your country’s import regulations. Some locations don’t allow reclaimed wood. The permanent installation, medallion or paver versions are safer alternatives.

How long does it take to receive my mosaic?

Ready-to-ship pieces: 2–5 business days to dispatch after funding recieved.

Made-to-order mosaics (like the Christmas Gnome Pot): allow several days or for the larger pieces, weeks for creation

You’ll receive a confirmation email and I’ll keep you personally updated throughout the process. (No robotic emails — just real updates from me.)

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, you can pay by installments. But construction won't begin until the final payment has been received.

All made-to-order mosaics require full payment upfront before I begin, as each piece is highly time-intensive and custom-built.

Do you have a physical store or studio I can visit?

I work from my private home studio in regional VIC. It’s not open to the public at this time, but you can explore my entire portfolio here online — and I’m happy to share behind-the-scenes videos and updates via Instagram, Pinterest and my Video page.

What if something arrives broken?

Everything is packed with extreme care — but if something does arrive damaged, take photos of the packaging and piece, and contact me within 48 hours.

Your mosaic is covered by a 12-month craftsmanship warranty for faults in materials or construction.

Q: When will my order ship?

A: Orders placed by Friday at 12 PM (noon) ship on the following Monday. Orders placed after that will ship the next week.

Subscription boxes ship once a month, usually on the 1st. If the 1st is a weekend or holiday, shipments go out the next business day.

Do you offer tutorials or art classes?

I'm currently doing online lessons as part of the subscription packages. My DIY kits are very easy to follow and have extensive instructions in both paper and video formats.

Will there be animals in your videos?

Absolutely.

Expect parrot screams, cat interruptions, and the occasional rat trying to steal tiles.

It’s all part of life at Merrin’s Art — I wouldn’t have it any other way.
